On January 29, 2018, Québec’s Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS) released a notice to manufacturers. This notice is a supplement to the information published on August 18, 2017 regarding changes of an administrative nature.
Requests for withdrawals from the Liste des médicaments and the Liste des médicaments – Établissements for 2018 will be effective as of the May 24, 2018 update and then to each of the subsequent drug list updates according to the announced schedule. The deadlines for submitting withdrawal applications will be the same of those identified for administrative changes. These dates are available here:
According to the usual process, medications removed from the Liste des médicaments are identified by a “R” in the update for which the withdrawal request was received. The planned inventory run-off period will be spread over two lists, subject to a decision by the Régie. The purpose of this mechanism is to allow pharmacists to sell their inventory of these drugs before they are removed from the list. Requests for withdrawals must be submitted to the Régie by 4:30 p.m. on the deadlines provided, by e-mail to email@example.com. The form of the product subject to a withdrawal request must be provided with the list referred to in the withdrawal, the reason for the withdrawal request will now be part of the application and other documents required should be submitted, where applicable. This form must be signed and dated.
