With his team, John helps clients navigate the private payer landscape using data to make better informed decisions.
John brings with him 16 years of experience in health and drug insurance. In serving insurance companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and government institutions, he has led multiple projects and built a network of key people in these industry sectors. His data insights experience relates to analyzing patient access for private and public insurance for drugs prescribed in Canada, constructing budget-impact assessment models, analyzing claims data to determine average drug costs and patient out-of-pocket costs, and calculating patients’ ability to pay for medication. Results and models were used to develop new ideas and approaches for clients to differentiate themselves in the market. He has also written articles and presented on access to insurance coverage in Canada, on plan design, on longitudinal trends in private plans, and on plan-sponsor health benefit trends.
John holds a BA (Hons) in Economics & English from Trent University and studied at Wilfred Laurier University for his Master’s in Economics. He has also completed the Data Literacy Program and Customer-Focused Marketing for Pharma Professionals Program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management to enhance his data analytics and business knowledge.
