On August 18, 2017, the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS) released a Notice to Drug Manufacturers and Wholesalers describing the following changes to the INESSS process.

List Update Schedule in 2018

The Minister of Health and Social Services has authorized nine updates to the List of Medications covered by the basic prescription drug insurance plan and the List of Medications – Institutions in 2018: February 1, March 1, April 12, May 24, July 5, August 16, September 27, November 8 and December 13, 2018.

Updating Evaluation Framework for Submission Applications

INESSS has decided to postpone work on updating the methodological aspects of the evaluation framework in order to prioritize the revision and optimization of its functioning and various processes, following the unveiling of the Stratégie québécoise des sciences de la vie. In the short-term, details will be added to the content of the different submission application forms/checklists. In addition, a submission guide will be made available to support the preparation of these submission applications. These requirements will apply as part of the updated list of medications scheduled for February 1, 2018.
